Grand Masti Movie Review-In Short:
Three married men attend their college reunion with the purpose of reliving their college days, with hilarious consequences.
Grand Masti Movie Review-Verdict:
Though some of the gags are quite funny, some others might make you gag, though the lead actors contribute to making the film a decent watch...
Grand Masti Movie Review-Story Plot:
Meet (Vivek Oberoi), Amar (Riteish Deshmukh) and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani) are fed up of their married lives as their respective spouses (Karishma TannaSonalee and Manjari Fadnis) seem to have lost interest in their husbands due to various reasons.
When the trio gets an opportunity to attend their college reunion festival, they decide to make the most of it and relive their fun-filled bachelor days. At the college, they fall for three nubile creatures- Rose (Maryam Zakaria), Mary (Bruna Abdullah) and Marlo (Kainaat Arora), who are all related to the no-nonsense college principal Robert Pereira (Pradeep Rawat). What happens later forms the rest of the plot.
Grand Masti Movie Review-Performances:
When it comes to performances, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani manage to provoke rib-tickling laughter. Riteish has a natural comic timing and so does Aftab and the duo team up to make you laugh more than the rest of the cast put together. Vivek Oberoi might not have the same kind of ease when it comes to comedy as Riteish and Aftab but yet, the Saathiya star puts in a honest effort to try and match up to the other two laughter masters. The women-folk offer nothing much except for visual delight. Suresh Menon, who is usually known to be bankable when it comes to humour, ends up being a disappointment with his bad wig and his worse jokes though Pradeep Rawat is funny in some scenes.
Grand Masti Movie Review-Direction:
When a movie claims to be an adult comedy, there is naturally a curiosity about the film, which will work in its favour. However, director Indra Kumar seems to focus more on the ‘adult’ part than the ‘comedy’ part- so, you have jokes aimed at human genitalia, jokes about impotency and some more jokes about masturbation, which might not be palatable for everyone. However, this is where the actors come in-Riteish, Aftab and Vivek ensure that you end up laughing at the jokes that you might have read earlier in some ‘non-veg sms forward’. Known for making rib-ticklers such as Ishq, Dhamaal, Double Dhamaal and Masti, Indra Kumar comes up with a naughty comic ride in Grand Masti, though we wish the last half an hour could have been funnier.
Grand Masti Movie Review-Music:The title track and other songs such as Zulmi and Mamla set kar le are foot-tapping and fun enough.
Grand Masti Movie Review-Final Word:
If you enjoy adult comedies, Grand Masti will ensure a grand time!
